Sara Whittington is a genderqueer artist living in Brooklyn, New York. They grew up in a small town in central Louisiana and miss the live oak trees and blue plate lunches. They have been playing piano since 1999; George Gershwin is their favorite composer and they’ve always been a softie for American and Broadway standards.

While volunteering at an after school program in Shreveport, LA in 2013, Sara knew they wanted to make elementary education a focus in their career. With their background in the arts, and experience teaching, Sara creates lesson plans and classes centered around creating a safe learning environment ideal to encourage students to take chances and leave their comfort zone.

In their free time Sara enjoys eating cake, collecting Swatches and mailing letters.
